Tanya MacDonald

Tanya MacDonald has been one of our Kindergarten teachers since 2011 and been teaching in Myrtle Beach for over 20 years.

Tanya graduated from Coastal Carolina University with a Bachelor's of Science Degree in Early Childhood Education. Tanya began teaching Kindergarten at First Presbyterian Church Growing Tree and then taught kindergarten at Forestbrook Elementary for another three years. In 2011, she followed her heart and joined the Christian Academy family and pursued her passion for kindergarten once again. 

Tanya was originally born in Germany, grew up in Texas and now calls SC her home. She played collegiate tennis at Anderson University and then transferred to Coastal Carolina University to finish her teaching degree. 

Tanya has been married to her husband, Chris, for 27 years. They have been blessed to raise three beautiful children. Brandon (2018 Christian Academy Graduate) is a graduate of The Citadel and in the South Carolina Army National Guard, Christian (2023 Christian Academy Graduate) is a student at Coastal Carolina University, and Mary Claire (2024 Christian Academy Graduate) is a freshman at Clemson University. She loves spending quality time with family and friends. She finds joy in Jesus, photography, traveling, pool and beach days, mountain landscapes and chasing sunsets. 

One thing she loves about CA is that she can teach God's word, claim His promises and speak the truth every day. She also loves to celebrate people… birthdays, graduations, anything and everything!!

Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 15:13.
