Special High School Awards and Recognitions
Christian Academy is pleased to recognize, honor, and celebrate the God-given gifts and talents of our students in many ways. The following special recognitions are celebrated at the school’s annual commencement exercises.
SCISA Scholar Athletes (South Carolina Independent School Association)
These students must have made Honor Roll throughout the year & lettered in at least 2 varsity sports during the school year.
SCISA Certificates of Honor
These certificates are awarded to seniors who earn a 3.5 unweighted GPA or an overall numerical average of 92 or higher in the core academic subject areas each year and score an 1100 or higher on the SAT or 24 or higher on the ACT and are recommended by School Administration.
ACSI Distinguished Christian High School Student Awards (Association of Christian Schools International)
The awards are given to juniors and seniors and are voted on by the upper school faculty. Students receiving these awards have a clear Christian service and testimony and excel in one or more of the following areas: Academics, Athletics, Fine Arts, Leadership and Christian Service.
The Principal’s Honor Roll is given to students who earn straight As in all subjects all year.
The Highest Academic Achievement Award is for those who have earned an overall numeric average of a 97 or higher and/or a GPA of 5.0 or higher for the year.
The Fruit of the Spirit Award is given to a student who consistently displays the qualities described in Galatians 5:22: Love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.
The Saints Award is given to a student who excels academically, is involved in school and the community, shows the qualities of leadership, discipline, and has a Christ-filled spirit.
Cutting Down the Nets is given to an exceptional Christian Academy student-athlete in honor of Coach Darren Gore.
The Dr. H. E. Butler, Jr. Excellence in Math and Science Award is given in memory of Dr. Butler.
The Ronald and Marsha Hendrix Servant’s Heart Award is given in honor of Mr. And Mrs. Hendrix.
Jean Meyers Scholarship Award in memory of Mrs. Jean Meyers, the Founding Chairman of the Christian Academy Board of Trustees.
