As of January 15 at 8:00am, the SC Department of Education began accepting ESTF applications for the 2025-26 school year. Please encourage families to apply, even if they do not meet the prior public school attendance requirement, as it sounds like it’s possible that requirement will be removed by the General Assembly. Siblings of current ESTF students should especially apply!
On the first day of applications, SCDE received nearly a thousand applications. That means that these 10,000 scholarship spots this year will go FAST! Students should apply ASAP, even before the new legislation is finalized to have first dibs at the scholarship spots.
Based on the amendment that passed recently, it does look like the 300% of the federal poverty line eligibility requirement is going to remain in place for the 2025-26 school year. Here’s what that comes out to:
Persons in household / annual income 300% FPL
2 / $63,450
3 / $79,950
4 / $96,450
5 / $112,950
6 / $129,450
7 / $145,950
8 / $162,450
