Joy Clarkson

Mrs. Clarkson has been teaching for 30 years in both public and private school settings and is Christian Academy's 6th grade ELA teacher. 

Mrs. Clarkson has a B.A. in English from Indiana Wesleyan University and a Master of Arts in Teaching English from USC. Joy is a SCISA Master Teacher and is the recipient of the 2017 Linda Vereen Golden Apple Excellence in teaching award for upper School. 

Mrs. Clarkson and her husband have two children: Wright (a Hospitalist at St. Michael's in Washington) and Riley (a senior software engineer at the Federal Reserve Bank).  

One thing she loves about Christian Academy is the people she works with are amazing and true joy-givers.

One of her favorite verses is John 1:5.
