Mrs. Raney begins her 16th year of teaching high school literature at Christian Academy. A native of Arkansas, she has a B.S.E. in English and an M.A. in English from Arkansas State University. Before coming to Christian Academy, she taught in both public and Christian schools in Arkansas and Virginia at the high school and college level. Her passion for teaching is fueled by her strong desire to guide students in an understanding and appreciation of literature, as well as teach them to effectively express themselves in oral and written communication--all the while emphasizing the need to "trust in the Lord" and not "in their own understanding" as they allow Him to "direct their paths." Mrs. Raney has one daughter, Melissa, and two beautiful granddaughters—Isabella and Annaliese. She enjoys Bible studies, reading, and spending time with family.
