Mendy Haldi

Mendy Haidi begins her 17th year at Christian Academy and is one of our third grade teachers. 

She has a BS in Elementary Education with an Area of Concentration in Music from the University of Illinois and Urbana- Champaign. She is also certified in Early Childhood Ed., Special Education, and Gifted and Talented Ed. Mendy has taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd,4th, 5th, 7th and 8th grades, special ed, and has also been a curriculum specialist.  She has over 28 years teaching experience. In 2011, she was awarded CA teacher of the year. In 2012, she was named the SCISA Master teacher and SCISA Lower School Teacher of the Year. In 2018, she was awarded the Allison Allen Butler Golden Apple Award. 

She has three daughters: Kaeyln (2021 CA graduate, Liberty University grad, and now LU masters student), Kyleigh (2024 CA graduate, now attending Liberty University), and Kara who is in 11th grade at CA. Her favorite things to do are spend time with family, watch sports, and listen to music.  

One thing she loves about CA is the family environment and knowing that her girls have had teachers that truly love their students, pray for them, and weave the Word of God into all they teach. 

Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28.
