Mendy Haldi

Mendy Haidi begins her 18th year at Christian Academy and is one of our third grade teachers.

She has a BS in Elementary Education with an Area of Concentration in Music from the University of Illinois and Urbana-Champaign. She is certified in Early Childhood Education, Special Education, Gifted and Talented Education, and has her Read to Succeed endorsement. Mendy has taught kindergarten, 2nd, 3rd,4th, 5th, 7th and 8th grades, special ed, and has also been a curriculum specialist. She has over 29 years teaching experience. In 2011, she was awarded CA Teacher of the Year. In 2012, she was named a SCISA Master Teacher and the SCISA Lower School Teacher of the Year. In 2018, she was awarded the Allison Allen Butler Golden Apple Award.

She has three daughters: Kaeyln (2021 CA graduate, 2025 Liberty University graduate, and 2026 Liberty University graduate with her master’s degree), Kyleigh (2024 CA graduate, now attending Liberty University), and Kara who is a senior at Christian Academy. All three of her girls have attended Christian Academy since Kindergarten and three of her biggest blessings! Her favorite things to do are spend time with family, watch sports (especially March Madness!), and listen to praise and worship music.

One thing she loves about CA is the family environment and knowing that her girls have had teachers that truly love their students, pray for them, and weave the Word of God into all they teach.

Her favorite Bible verse is Romans 8:28.
